"Leaping Lena"
The Hong Kong volunteers' armoured cars were built by the Whampoa and Hong Kong Dockyard. According to Flecthers's Mechanised Force the first one ("Leaping Lena") was built on a Thornycroft 6 wheel chassis. It was "a six wheeler with a long, enclosed body and two machine gun turrets arranged either side of the centre l;ine and staggerd fore and aft".

| The second vehicle was probably built on Albion chassis, and "the dockyard supplied similar vehicles on the same chassis to Singapore and the Chinese government in the early thirties". The pic (Fletcher) shows two Hong Kong cars:
